Thank You - rewards being sent out!Dear supporters,
Thank you so much for your incredible support during our campaign! We were able to raise over 8,000 dollars and already your donations are making a difference. We apologize for the delay – but your pins and art and print magazines are being shipped out this week! In the meantime – have you noticed that we have already published two beautiful online issues? Take a moment to read some of the beautiful voices below. With deep gratitude, Christina The Things They Do Not Tell You: A daughter’s journey through foreign grief. The Public Library: When the refugee, literally and metaphorically, is bereft of language, home, friends, family, and hope, he or she can find in a library a substitute. Customs: The poetry of Qi'Ang Meng: solitude and phantasmas. ”The lights going off, you and I / and foreigners climb into our beds / like exhausted warriors. Succulents of night” Inhaling Toxin: Communicating what is truly happening in her country is one of Arantxa’s greatest goals —the corruption of a government’s dictatorship that wears the mask of democracy for the rest of the world to see. My Indonesian Mom Bought Me a Blonde Wig: And Other Adventures in Internalized Racism Exile Poems: "In my life in exile / the way I say 'goodbye' with love for people / Is not the way I have ever said it before." El Patio: As an iconic Austin restaurant closes, the staff and patrons gather to reflect on a long history of family, legacy, and the American Dream - and to eat! Walking On A Dream: American Dream: (verb)(1) To spend days walking and seeing things that remain best unsaid. A journey across the border. |
Home Stretch! We are in the home stretch! The fundraiser ends this weekend! We have raised nearly 7,000 dollars from over 75 different donors - which is an incredible feat! And I am so proud of what we have accomplished! Regardless of whether we meet the full goal, I know the next year of Immigrant Report will be even more impactful and I am so grateful to all who have been able to get us this far!
I wanted to write you to let you know about something very exciting! For the final days of the fundraiser, the special edition magazine will be available for only $40! After all - the entire purpose of raising money is so we can celebrate immigrant voices and art and reach even wider audiences. What better way to do that than by making this incredible issue packed with some of the best writing and art from the past two years more available? I made this decision, because I always want to be guided by the mission of centering and celebrating immigrant voices. I feel so strongly that this incredible work should be seen and read by as many people as possible. And that, to me, is the most important thing. The entire issue is made with so much love and care, and is so incredibly special. Please share the fundraiser! Not only is this the last chance for your friends and family to get a copy featuring your incredible work, but they will be able to support Immigrant Report and all of the other incredible writers and artists who are making this possible. -->donate.ImmigrantReport.com Thank you so much for all your incredible generosity and talent and for being a part of this! with so much gratitude, Christina |
New Reward Alert!Dearest friends and supporters,
We are so excited to announce that we have a brand new reward thanks to the incredible Noella Borie! You can now get a signed print from Infinite Universe! This incredible short animation required over 600 hand drawn watercolors and is downright mesmerizing. You can watch the video, get inspired, and then take home a piece of the magic. If you want to read more about her process, check out the article on Immigrant Report! We have 18 days left to raise 6,310 dollars - but I believe we can do it together! Your generous support is so deeply appreciated and we are on our way! With gratitude, Christina |
Halfway ThroughWe are halfway through our fundraiser!
I am overwhelmed that near 40 people have donated so far. It is amazing to see so many people that also have faith in our mission. But we still have a long ways to go! Luckily - there are some amazing perks and I am so excited to reveal.... (drum roll please).... the cover! This is a really special reward. Over 50 pages of essays, interviews, art, and poetry from our past issues. It is all lovingly laid out, printed at the highest quality, and perfect bound. And it is only available during the campaign! Get it here! So be sure to let your friends know! You will not find a collection like this anywhere else. And of course what kind of publication would we be if we did not continue publishing? Did you see that a new issue was released during the campaign? It includes a playwright's reflections on being from elsewhere, intimate writing on identity and skin color, memories of apartheid era Johannesburg, and a story about mother's love found in a spice cabinet! And as always, all our content is available for free online at ImmigrantReport.com |
